To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. A proper screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics, biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health, and injury history.

The TPI movement screen is a simple test to quickly evaluate a player’s physical capabilities. The results of that assessment are used to determine how technical elements of the player’s swing could be related to what their body can or cannot do. Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include fitness training, physical therapy and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above.

This performance assessment is for tennis and pickleball athletes alike. If you are struggling with injury, we'll find the cause of the pain. If you are struggling with shot or serve accuracy, consistency, or power despite practicing and coaching, we'll identify what physically is limiting your technique. If you simply want to play to your full potential, we'll identify physical opportunities for improvement.

There are many technically correct ways to play. There's only one efficient way for an individual athlete to play, and it is based on what you physically can do.

Racquet sports have unique movement patterns that an athlete must be physically capable of performing. The RacquetFit assessment examines how your entire body moves, joint by joint. Then Dr. Rob gives you a complete plan to improve any body limitations holding back your game. If a structural limitation (not fixable without surgery) is identified, you will be advised on how this will affect your technique and how to build injury resiliency despite your limitation.

For tennis players, you will film your serve, and Dr. Rob will analyze your serve mechanics and match your movement to the results of your physical screen. This body-serve connection lets Dr. Rob guide you through a plan to reach your tennis potential. The results will be communicated to your coach or trainer to bridge the gap from rehab to performance.

Dr. Rob’s mission is to educate and empower patients so that they can do what they love. He emphasizes self-treatment, movement, and prevention so pain and injury don’t limit your life. He obtained his doctorate from National University of Health Sciences in Chicago. He is one of 2 chiropractors in West Michigan certified in the McKenzie Method (MDT) along with Dr. Christian Koch. On top of this training, he also specializes in treatments techniques of Motion Palpation (MPI) and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS).

Dr. Rob competed in cross country, track, and club gymnastics at the University of Cincinnati. While from Ohio, he asks that you not hold that against him. Outside of the office you can find Dr. Rob training martial arts, running, lifting, and enjoying the natural beauty of southwest Michigan when not treating patients.
